Last Chance!

Historical Firearms |  Last Chance!

Violent Crime Reduction Act 2006 – Firearms Measures.

We've had news recently that the ban on realistic imitation firearms will come into force on 1st October 2007. So from this date it will be illegal to manufacture, import or sell realistic imitation firearms which are dated from 1870 onwards. It will still be legal to own these items after 1st October

Here we've put together the affected products, first off we have a Percussion pistol, then the Samuel Colt revolvers, moving on to the wild west style rifles and then finally the modern arms. As you can imagine we will not be importing any more of this stock, once the current stock has gone, it's gone.

Order by the 25th September for best chance of receiving your replica. Basically we are trying not to keep the affected replica firearms in stock, so this means they will have to be ordered from the suppliers on a weekly basis. The last day in which we will be ordering from the suppliers is Wednesday 26th September. This means that your order will have to be in by the end of Tuesday 25th. If you order after this date then you will be restricted to what we have in stock (which won't be a lot!).

The Colt Single-Action Army Revolver was produced in several forms and many calibers from 1872 to 1940, with production totalling about 350,000 pieces. As its introduction coincided with the settlement of the “Wild” West, the names “Peacemaker” and “Frontier Six-Shooter” were popularized. Although most were produced for the military, some civilian versions were beautifully engraved at the Colt factory. This non-firing version replicates a gold-inlaid piece and has a functional lock mechanism, with a revolving cylinder and working ejector system.

Known Fault; We are finding that 50% of these have faulty mechanisms. Cocking the hammer rotates the cylinder on all but one of the chambers. As mentioned this appears to be true to half of the stock, so you may be lucky and receive a perfect revolver. Normally we would ensure that each customer receives a perfect model. But with the ban coming up on the 1st October, it's difficult for us to guarantee this.

M1 Thompson submachine gun - USA 1928 - "Tommy Gun"

(Ref: DX1092)

US General John Tagliaferro Thompson began designing an unsatisfactory self-loading rifle in 1916, but by 1919 he had produced and early version of what would be known universally as the Tommy Gun. The M1921 was the first to come to the market, but it was not until 1928 that the US government adopted it, in small numbers, for the Marine Corps.

If the Thompson was slow to find favour with the US Army, it received a warm welcome from the criminal fraternity defying America's Prohibition Laws during the Roaring Twenties. It soon became a firm favourite.

M1A1 Thompson submachine gun - USA 1928 - WWII

(Ref: DX1093)

In 1938, the Thompson submachine gun was adopted by the U.S. military, serving during World War II and later into the Korean War, as well as early stages of the Vietnam War. Other Allied countries purchased the Thompson as well, notably the United Kingdom and France. Modifications to simplify production and reduce cost were made in 1942, resulting in the M1 and M1A1 models, which were commonly carried by both non-commissioned and commissioned officers.

There were two military types of Thompson SMG. The M1928A1 used a 20-round box magazine, or 50- and 100-round drums. It had cooling fins on the barrel, and its cocking handle was on the top of the receiver. The M1A1 had a plain barrel without cooling fins, a simplified rear sight, a 30-round box magazine, and the cocking handle was on the side of the receiver. The M1928A1 along with the regular M1928 was the choice of the Marines. The M1A1 was the choice of the Army. Thompson intended the weapon as an automatic 'trench-broom' to sweep enemy troops from the trenches. Ironically, this concept was adopted by German troops using their own submachine guns in concert with sturmtruppen tactics.

* This submachine gun is practically limited edition, it will be banned from sale from the 1st of October and there are just 100 coming into the UK (and Ireland) in July. So this is a one-time chance to own this fantastic replica.
